About Fiona McIlroy

Life coach in Canberra ACT, Fiona McIlroy has over twenty-five years experience teaching and working in the community sector with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, giving her the ability to respond to a range of learning styles. Fiona is passionate about supporting others to make changes that reflect their true values and abilities through her life coaching and workshops in the Canberra area.

Fiona is Café Poet at Cherryripe Brasserie in Watson, ACT. Fiona is also a contributing author to best-selling book titled: Path to Wellness, Heart to Heart series.

Fiona recently published a collection of poetry titled: Taste of a Poem (Ginninderra Press). She also works as a teacher and community educator, and has run workshops on Finding New Life & Career Directions for over 10 years.

Fiona has worked extensively with people from diverse backgrounds, in research, and teaching communication skills and literacy. She also travelled across Australia with Kevin Gilbert visiting indigenous communities in 1977 to understand their level of self-determination in education, health, employment and community development.

Fiona's knowledge of adult learning principles enables her to activate your intrinsic motivation. This leads to sustained personal development in your chosen direction.

Fiona initiated Conversation Café in the ACT.

Fiona has spoken about life coaching on ABC Radio 666, as well as delivered presentations to the Federal Treasury about Life Coaching.

While teaching in schools in rural Victoria, Fiona helped build a passive solar earth home and develop a permaculture property. She has parented three children to be independent, loving human beings.
